Living with ADHD is a constant battle. Except you didn't even know you were in the battle. Here are five tips to help you live better with ADHD.



 


Surround yourself with people who believe in you.

Don't fight the battle alone. Positivity goes a long way when you've been crippled with shame and negativity about the symptoms of your ADHD. Create a group of people who cheer you on and believe you are a good person.


 



Read the books & articles. Listen to the Podcasts.

Hyper fixate on understanding ADHD and how it affects your life. The silver lining to ADHD is the abundance of research available to people. ADHD presents differently for each individual and part of the "fun" is discovering your uniqueness. Understanding your ADHD symptoms will help you see yourself through a more compassionate lense.



 


Create systems

When you understand your ADHD symptoms the next step is to create systems that will help you better manage your ADHD symptoms. We hate structure, but we need it. Also, it's okay to ask for help. We are amazing at a lot of things, but planning and organizing are skills that we may need to learn.

 



Get treated

ADHD is highly treatable. However, each individual will have different treatment plans. There is no correct treatment, only effective treatments. This may look like a combination of medications, supplements, nutrition, exercise, meditation, and behaviour therapy. Figuring out the perfect recipe of treatments is a test-and-trial process.


 


Find your community

There is a huge online ADHD community. Sometimes knowing that you aren't the only neurodivergent struggling in a neurotypical world is the kindness you need to give yourself. If relatable content is what you need, join the ADHD Cognizant Community.
